About Us

Double C Farm, owned and operated by Cridder Halle, is a private facility located in upper Montgomery County, Maryland, near Sugarloaf Mountain. We offer Ranch Riding and have an Extreme Mountain Trail Obstacle Course. We are conveniently located for riders in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

The Mountain Trail Course at Double C features over 30 obstacles including a high bridge, balance beams, a trench, several moving bridges, and water obstacles.

We offer group lessons, private lessons and private play days as well as our annual “Halloween Play Day” on our Mountain Trail Course.

Riding the obstacle course helps a horse and rider:

  • Build a deeper partnership
  • Cultivate trust, respect, and confidence
  • Increase flexibility and agility
  • Develop better communication skills

We also offer Ranch Riding clinics as well as several Ranch Riding schooling shows throughout the season.

Our facility has been approved by ECRRA(East Coast Ranch Riding Association) and we will also be hosting a full slate ECRRA Show.

Ranch Riding has been a perfect addition to our Mountain Trail Course and is also about the partnership between horse and rider. It measures the horse and riders ability to communicate and to demonstrate willingness and ease of movement while performing one ranch task to another. We will also be using our Mountain Trail Course with ECRRA approved obstacles for the trail portion of our schooling shows and our Full Slate ECRRA Show.
